How to sleep with lash extensions
Waking up with twisted or flattened lashes? Simple ways to sleep with eyelash extensions so your set lasts longer.
You spend about a third of your life asleep, so how you sleep has a big effect on your lash extensions. A few small changes can keep your set full and pointing the right way.
Sleep on your back if you can
Back sleeping keeps pressure off your lashes completely. If you are a side or stomach sleeper, it is hard to change overnight, but even part of the night helps.
Try a contoured sleep mask
A mask with raised cups around the eyes keeps fabric off your lashes. Flat masks press on them, so look for the cupped kind.
Switch to a silk or satin pillowcase
Smooth fabric creates less friction than cotton. Your lashes are less likely to snag, twist or get pulled.
Brush them every morning
A clean spoolie fixes most bedhead lashes in seconds. Brush from the middle of the lash out to the tips, not at the base.
Pick the right set for how you sleep
Very long or very full volume sets show sleep damage faster. If you sleep on your face, your artist may suggest a slightly shorter length or a hybrid set that holds up better.
